O artigo analisa criticamente a produção brasileira de livros para crianças, destacando sua baixa qualidade em relação à escolha de ilustrações, tipo de papel e encadernação e, principalmente, quanto às características do próprio texto. Com excessiva preocupação didática, moralista, conservadora, contendo informações contraditórias ou pouco relevantes, grande parte da literatura existente trata a criança como público menor. Comparando-a com o filme publicitário para crianças, percebe-se que enquanto este, que é consumido diretamente pelo público infantil, procura ser o mais sedutor possível, os livros, que são comprados por adultos, na realidade respondem a necessidades dos próprios adultos.Downloads
