Abstract

O artigo, parte da tese de doutoramento do autor, discute, segundo uma perspectiva sociológica, os efeitos decorrentes de uma política educacional desenvolvida no município de Catu, Bahia, por influência da Fundação Clemente Mariani. O trabalho procura estabelecer os efeitos sociais dessa política. Após a apresentação de aspectos da experiência e de uma descrição das estratégias da investigação, o autor mostra, entre outros aspectos, que há um grande impacto social como resultado de uma política educacional e que, nesse novo contexto, a expectativa dos pais e responsáveis com relação ao futuro dos filhos aumenta. A pesquisa mostra que, mesmo sendo de pequena duração a experiência, foi possível detectar resultados promissores, apesar de apresentar pontos que precisariam ser mais trabalhados e eliminadas áreas nebulosas.
