Abstract

Texto preparado para o Seminário Internacional sobre Modelos Avaliativos (SEE/SP, FCC, apoio Banco Mundial). A autora analisa os problemas da avaliação no Estado de São Paulo a partir de 1988, mostrando sua importância para fins de currículo, rendimento do aluno e gestão escolar nos estabelecimentos de 1º grau. A autora mostra, também, o significado das avaliações realizadas em 1990, abrangendo escolas técnicas e escolas do Ensino Médio com habilitação magistério e discute ainda o II Programa Internacional de Avaliação do Progresso Educacional (II IAEP).
