Resumen

La importancia atribuida a las inserciones sociales en la perspectiva de Doise sobre las representaciones sociales y en la noción de habitus de Bourdieu son discutidas e ilustradas a través de un conjunto de estudios sobre las prácticas familiares que muestran el efecto de las posiciones sociales sobre las representaciones sociales y las prácticas sociales. Los resultados revelan un consenso sobre lo que son las tareas familiares y quién debe ejecutarlas. Ellas muestran que los hombres y las mujeres concuerdan en considerar justa la distribución desigual del trabajo familiar y deseable la diferenciación de los papeles familiares entre maridos y mujeres. El nivel de escolaridad lleva a variaciones en la creencia en las diferencias naturales entre los sexos, en las representaciones formadas sobre el trabajo familiar y en la contribución efectiva de los cónyuges a las tareas familiares, sin amenazar, sin embargo, las posiciones asimétricas ocupadas por los hombres y las mujeres en la sociedad.
