Abstract

Este trabalho educativo junto à população rural do Estado do Espírito Santo, a Escola-Família Agrícola (EFA) acolhe alunos de 1º e 2º Graus. Funcionando como escola técnica agrícola, as EFAs foram criadas pelo Movimento Educacional e Promocional do Espírito Santo (MEPES), visando não só fixar o homem instruído no campo, minimizando o êxodo rural, mas conscientizá-lo de sua função política, tornando-o agente na história de seu grupo social. Com uma estrutura administrativa que busca ser democrática, uma metodologia de valorização da cultura da comunidade onde se instalam, as EFAs apresentam contribuições originais, como a alternância da permanência dos alunos em casa e na escola e o envolvimento dos pais. Discutem-se as realizações positivas desse projeto educativo e as contradições vivenciadas entre o ideal político-pedagógico e sua implantação na prática.
