Abstract

Três são os aspectos que este trabalho se propõe a analisar, resumidos em três perguntas fundamentais: - É possível e desejável o trabalho científico conjunto da psicologia e da educação? - Deve-se iniciar a alfabetização tomando como critério uma determinada idade cronológica? - Qual o fator mais importante para o processo de alfabetização: inteligência ou maturidade? As respostas às duas primeiras perguntas visam a levantar problemas graves, aos quais psicólogos e pedagogos não tem dado a devida atenção. A resposta à terceira pergunta, ao mesmo tempo em que responde às duas iniciais, tenta esclarecer, através de uma pesquisa, aspectos do desenvolvimento psico-neurológico necessário para a alfabetização.
