Abstract

O texto analisa os diversos atores presentes no campo do atendimento à infância de zero a seis anos. A partir do estudo das práticas do Movimento de Luta por Creches na região metropolitana de Belo Horizontes discutem-se: a origem das creches comunitárias, sua relação com o trabalho feminino e com o contexto social e político; o papel das associações de apoio ao Movimento de Luta por Creches; as transformações no significado do direito à creche; a participação dos usuários nas experiências comunitárias; os paradoxos e as ambigüidades da luta por creches para crianças de camadas populares.
