Abstract

Uma equipe do departamento de pesquisas educacionais da Fundação Carlos Chagas vem, nos últimos 7 anos, se preocupando com o problema do fracasso na aprendizagem, da repetência e conseqüente evasão de enormes contingentes de alunos nos primeiros anos de escolaridade, alunos estes pertencentes em sua quase totalidade às camadas pobres da população.
