O lugar da tradição na modernidade Latino-Americana: etnicidade e gênero

Tomando como referência empírica o depoimento de uma líder indígena da Guatemala, examina-se o processo de construção da identidade étnica e de gênero, que conforma uma nova linguagem político-cultural articulada à neo-modernidade ocidental. Nem mero resgate da tradição, nem submissão à modernidade; nem dissolução da tradição, nem repúdio à modernidade, a nova linguagem dos movimentos sociais que eclodiram na América Latina a partir dos anos 70 - especialmente de indígenas e de mulheres - parece apontar para um confronto de alteridades culturais que promove a de construção e construção da igualdade e da diferença.Downloads
